Compensation, Benefits, and Planning Manager - Heavy Industry

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Compensation, Benefits, and Planning Manager to design, oversee, and implement our company's compensation and benefits programs. This role will be crucial in ensuring that the company remains competitive in the market, can attract and retain top talent, and manages employee compensation and benefits cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with company goals and industry standards.
    • Design and administer employee benefits programs such as retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies.
  • Compensation Management:

    • Conduct regular market analysis to determine competitive salary rates and benefits.
    • Oversee the creation of job descriptions and classifications, and ensure proper compensation across all positions.
    • Manage salary structure, including monitoring and adjusting pay grades and ranges as necessary.
  • Benefits Administration:

    • Evaluate and negotiate with benefits providers to secure cost-effective benefits for employees.
    • Ensure that all benefit programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Address benefit inquiries and assist with resolution of any benefits issues.
  • Performance Management:

    • Collaborate with the HR team to integrate compensation with performance management systems.
    • Support performance review processes with appropriate compensation recommendations.
  • Budgeting and Planning:

    • Develop and manage annual budgets for compensation and benefits programs.
    • Forecast future compensation needs based on business growth and labor market trends.
  • Policy Development:

    • Establish and update compensation policies to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
    • Ensure that compensation practices are transparent and equitable.
  • Compliance and Reporting:

    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
    • Prepare reports for executive leadership summarizing compensation and benefits data.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of compensation and benefits professionals.
    • Coordinate with HR, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure effective implementation of compensation and benefits plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compensation, benefits administration, or related area within the heavy industry sector.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale compensation or benefits programs.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) accreditation.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in the heavy industry sector is highly desirable.
